Spring is in the air and the woodpeckers are at it trying to get their nests ready. Here is one of the pair of Pileated Woodpeckers near Lake Mercer in Fairfax, VA. It's clearing out wood chips from it's nest. The pair take turns working on the nest while the other rests and feeds. More of these shots can be found at
